Kitchens feature different stains and styles for a custom look. Popular stains include French roast, dove grey, and buckskin. Oak cabinets are also showing up unstained and unfinished, for a more raw style. Oak also looks stylish and natural for built-in islands and range hoods. The grain adds a nice texture and complements most countertop and flooring materials.
It may seem odd, but having no cabinets is also a popular cabinet design. Hear us out before you lose faith. The truth is open kitchen shelves are slowly replacing upper cabinets in kitchens all over the country as a viable storage option. Open shelves are ideal for small grab-and-go items that you regularly need in your kitchen, but they’re also easy to incorporate. Open shelving allows you to open up your kitchen and give it an ‘airy’ theme.
With this timeless kitchen trend, less is more. Open shelving offers a stylish alternative to upper cabinets that can give your kitchen a lighter, airier feel. Line your walls with floating shelves and use them to display dishware, potted herbs, or even decorative accessories. If you`d rather not rip out your existing cabinetry, you can simply remove the doors to convert basic cabinets into open shelving.
