The standard vanity height for a bathroom is between 85cm to 90cm, but they can be installed higher if need be. However, should you plan on selling the property in the near future, keep in mind that families with children, or who are short, won’t appreciate a custom-height vanity. Furthermore, this height should be adapted to suit the type of sink you choose for your vanity. A vessel sink that sits flush with the bench top doesn’t require adjustment, while a stone basin or similar that sits atop the bench top requires the cabinet to be slightly lowered so hands can be washed comfortably. Hang mirror at eye level, usually between 160-175cm on average.
Bathrooms may have nooks where open shelving can be used to add functional storage. Bathroom shelves that are open work well in tub, toilet and sink areas where cabinets would be difficult to install or access and handy storage is needed.
Master bedrooms with double sinks can feature a long vanity underneath. This may contain plenty of drawers and doors for storage. Repurpose old vanities or buy new ones. Repaint them to match the color of the walls and install new handles. Make sure that the bottom is a few inches above the floor for that airy feel.
