Storage cabinet towers have become one of the best ways to optimize space in a bathroom, and they add an instant custom look. They can be added to a vanity for handy storage and to separate dual sink areas. The counter-to-ceiling interior shelves can be used for many items including towels. A drawer or a lift-up door can be added to the configuration to store small bathroom appliances to keep them in reach, but out of sight.
A niche cabinet can be used for both function and display in a bathroom. Since a niche is recessed into a wall it doesn't use any square footage in the space. Open shelves can be added to maximize the storage space. In a shower we highly recommend a niche for bath essentials.
The standard vanity height for a bathroom is between 85cm to 90cm, but they can be installed higher if need be. However, should you plan on selling the property in the near future, keep in mind that families with children, or who are short, won’t appreciate a custom-height vanity. Furthermore, this height should be adapted to suit the type of sink you choose for your vanity. A vessel sink that sits flush with the bench top doesn’t require adjustment, while a stone basin or similar that sits atop the bench top requires the cabinet to be slightly lowered so hands can be washed comfortably. Hang mirror at eye level, usually between 160-175cm on average.
